Did we ever get a group facilitator for medical? I unfortunately had to leave for work, so I missed the end of the meeting. If not, this needs to happen as we need to get lists of those with food allergies to get to the folks in charge of cooking! Maybe an excel spreadsheet or something of that nature. This is imperative due to our time restrictions.

I don't think a medical group was started. I was wondering about that too. Unless they went over it in the safety group??

I have listed Medical / First Aid as one of the "Safety, Security, Logistics" issues.
In my mind, step one is to find and recruit as many medical volunteers as possible. From there, we can work time schedules for them.
In addition, there needs to be a EMS calling station (probably at the central meeting spot or charging area), and a method for quickly providing EMS clearance in and out of the gathering.
Any ideas or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I was a little confused and I think I just accidentally volunteered you Keith for the medical point person. If you wouldn't mind helping to coordinate that however, for right now, when it grows to more than a new point person can be found for a separate group.

I work nights, so I missed the meeting and don't know anyone yet, but I have experience with first aid and CPR. I plan on being in attendance Saturday even if I can't get a night off, but I'm working on getting either Friday or Saturday night off so I can volunteer with you guys if you need me.

I am also look for SAFETY COLLABORATORS...
As we want a more Leaderless collective, no single Point Person should unintentionally gather information known only to them (afterall, knowledge is power).
If you are willing to devote some time and COLLABORATE with Safety issues, please contact me directly.

Training in First Aid, BLS and ALS, worked in hospital for 3 years, much of which in emergency department. I'll be glad to be on medical team. I should not be head, based on limited medical certifications & qualifications, but I can definitely help with that.

Also, IDEA:
For any elderly, disabled, or pregnant adult, and for ALL children participating in marches, a Yellow Ballon should be tied to their wrist to mark them as a person with some sort of marker to identify them to police officers to identify them as well and take precaution on their part not to injure any children, elderly, or pregnant people.
Also, I'm not familiar with columbia police, but would it be worth it to work with them as much as we can?
