This group was discussed and agreed upon at the organization meeting. Here's a thread where you can communicate.

The idea behind a civil disobedience group is to connect individuals together that would be interested in doing Direct Action pieces and also those willing to stand up through Civil Disobedience with the knowledge that jail is possibly involved. Having this group can allow others that do not want to go to jail to step back from a situation. It will also allow us to work through different scenarios before they happen, so that we can have an idea of how to handle things as they happen.
There is a non-violent action training this Thursday the 13th at 6:30. There is a facebook event for the training, so if you are able to be on facebook, please RSVP.

Out of curiosity, is the training related to Aikido?

Okay, all, this is really cool. You can monitor some emergency radios online . Just learned about it in the OccupyPDX (Portland Oregon) livestream Looks like Richland and lex county fire dept, but not police. May be useful at some point? www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?feedId=

bannedsquirrel: I've been using that to listen to Seattle PD, NYPD Special Operations, and Boston PD scanners all week. Definitely useful! And yes, it does work with Richland PD. If I remember correctly, Richland Fire and Police are on the same frequency.

Ren, Aikido is a martial art form is that correct? If so the training is not based on that, but strickly on nonviolent action.

Well, yes. Aikido is a martial art form. But it's the same form used by a large majority of police. So I figured. But otherwise understood. Thank you for responding.

I posted this in the medical subforum as well. It is a 13 page pdf guide for street medics during a protest, or riot. Anonymous wrote this during the recent wave of uprisings in revolutions, and police brutality. It has a wealth of information, check it out. demaa.org/sites/default/files/63285473-anon-medic-v1.pdfThis is "Protesters Guide to Organize Demonstrations Amidst Repression" This is a 32 page handbook, and while alot of it may not be applicable here or right now I think it is a great read, and some of you may be interested. Knowledge is always good, no I do not advocate for a riot. It's always good to be prepared, and learn what you can. Anon put alot of work into this. zinelibrary.info/files/AnonymousRiotGuide.pdf
