I have reached out to Global Revolution and someone responded that Livestream has agreed to offer all occupy's a free premium channel commercial free.
I am gathering more information from them and will let this group know more as I get responces.

Gryphon, Great job on the live streaming at the meeting! Keep me updated on your efforts with livestream. Also, see if you, or mystic can get some of that footage from Sunday edited so we can drop it onto the youtube channel and get that up and running. I would also like to get something put together for the media blurb, and have some sort of daily vlog format for the youtube channel. Im thinking interviews!

I have recieved some tips from Global Revolution and they suggest that we will need a 2.4ghz or faster laptop, a power (get a generator to broadcast from occupation) a 3g or 4g wifi hotspot. and a good webcam or firewire camera if your computer has firewire input (firewire camera is much better quality)

I can help some with the coding on the website although I am by no means an expert in all aspects of this.
I did notice that the website (www.occupycolumbiasc.org) is not yet fully operational. I think this needs to be a priority.
I do not use Facebook. I know I'm not alone in this, so I feel this should be a priority.

Thank you for your offer to help, as with everything we can use all we can get. The Tech group is having an informal meeting tomorrow at 11am if you are available we would love to have you there. We have many things we need to discuss. If you are interested please email occupycolumbia@yahoo.com and we will let you know the place.

UPDATE: I have been talking to the Global Revolution people and we now have a premium channel on Livestream which means NO commercials and unlimited viewers. They also will stream our channel periodically on the same stream as Occupy Wall street which translates to thousands of viewers.
They are also trying to get laptops together for the media teams of all the Occupations to help offset costs.
I want to personally thank Global Revolution for all their hard work and efforts to make this possible!

I'm proficient in Networking (router configuration/network management etc). More than happy to assist with anything in that area. Edit: To be more specific, I can help with the live stream. If anyone needs a webcam, I can provide a Microsoft LifeCam 3000 or a 5100 (HD). Have plenty of LAN cables and a couple switches (5port 10/100/1000). Can provide a Linksys router etc to be used in bridge mode, possibly extending an existing wireless network to be used (with permission if needed, of course)
--- Gryphon: I'd suggest a Virgin Mobile hotspot. It's the least expensive and the only one that works without a contract ($50/month, refill as needed). It also uses the Sprint CDMA network. It's not exactly as good as Verizon's network, but it'll get the job done.

Okay sounds great. When will you be available to help run the stream. We are basically going to have to rotate out. I was also trying to find a laptop that could stay there and constantly stream. If we have to rotate laptops for now, thats fine. Do you have one you are willing to bring?

Awesome. I am also willing to help in anyway that I can. Thank you all for working so hard on this, we are making history! The technical team is extremely important to this movement. We also need a social networking team with people constantly tweeting to other occupiers, etc.

Parker: I have a laptop I can use to handle the stream, yes. If you have a contact I can use, I can give you the days. I'll probably stay overnight at the State House with y'all as well quite a bit, so if need be I can help around those times, too.

I'm good at Proboards Coding, here's my example from a previous site I've done
rollinginthe-deep.proboards.com/index.cgi
Yes, I know that it's a Roleplay site, HOWEVER, I can do the same for a non RPG site. It's pretty easy, and I can make a couple graphics for this forum as well. Just let me know.
